Beyond trait modifiers, every enemy has elemental weaknesses (1.5ร damage) and resistances (0.5ร damage). These stack multiplicatively with trait effects. Use ๐ Folk & Fable to reveal them.

Bosses and Tier-3 enemies have unique special abilities that trigger on cooldowns during combat. Bosses use their abilities every time they're ready; standard enemies have a chance to use theirs:

Enemies have traits that affect how your weapons and spells interact with them. Trait labels appear next to enemy names in combat.
Beyond traits, every enemy has elemental weaknesses and resistances that modify damage. Weaknesses deal 1.5ร damage, resistances deal 0.5ร. These stack multiplicatively with trait effects.

The world is divided into 6 biomes that grow harder the farther you travel from Crossroads. Each biome has unique enemies, loot, and a boss or two to test your strength. Difficulty determines enemy stat scaling and loot rarity; Encounters is the chance of finding an enemy per move. Biomes 3 (Crystal Caverns and Forgotten Ruins) share the same distance range โ you'll find both.

๐ก Enemy stats scale with distance: base ร (1 + (difficulty โ 1) ร 0.15). Arcane Wastes enemies start at 1.75ร โ a Void Stalker (ATK 18) hits like ATK 31 right at the biome border.
Healers shine in the Forgotten Ruins (most undead are weak to โ๏ธ Sacred Flame). Arcane Wastes is the hardest biome โ elementals resist common damage types and have high stats. Bring the right weapons.
Tier-4 bosses are the most dangerous enemies in the world. Each has unique special abilities that trigger on cooldown during combat:
Boss fights award significantly better loot than regular enemies, including guaranteed rare+ items and increased gold.
Spells are available to Dropout Wizard, Stressed Apothecary with a Mace, and Out-of-Work Busker. Each has 6 spells unlocking at levels 1โ5. Spells cost MP and scale with INT (Mage/Healer) or CHA (Bard) + dice rolls (d4โd8) for variance.

๐ก Feats are MP-based abilities for physical classes. They work like spells but are labeled "FEAT" in the UI and use "โ๏ธ Use" instead of "โจ Cast". See the Feats section below for details.
Feats are class abilities for Disgruntled Guard, Pickpocket on Probation, and Lost Poacher โ similar to spells but focused on physical combat and utility. Each costs MP, has cooldowns, and scales with a class-specific stat: STR (Guard), DEX (Pickpocket), WIS (Poacher).
Use via Spells/Feats panel or type cast [feat name] (e.g., cast power_strike).

Accessories (head, feet, necklace, rings) add flat DEF on top of your armor AC.
